Media Engine

  • Chip Sony CXD2962GG MIPS R4000 32bit CPU

Some of the info below here is wrong, it's for the GPU not the Media Engine! (don't have time to correct it myself atm, just want to point it out). The Media Engine the second MIPS core running at max. 222 MHz like the Main Core, the GPU is locked at 111 MHz max., that's correct but Media Engine and the GPU are two different things!

  • 166 MHz (Maximum). 111 MHz at 1.2V ("locked" at 111MHz, BUS speed)
  • 2MB embedded RAM (Video Memory)
  • 256bit Bus
  • VRAM :2MB(eDRAM)
  • Bus Bandwidth: 3.5GB/sec
  • Sub Memory:2MB(eDRAM) @ 2.6GB/sec (Video Memory)
  • I-Cache 16kb, D-Cache 16kb, 2-way associative
  • 128 32bit registers, reconfigurable
  • 90nm CMOS
