Tutorial for Hacking Previously UnHackable PSP Slim with TA-088v3 Motherboards

Note: All this works on Vista
For Basic info go here: http://forums.mformature.net/showthread.php?t=1619

If you just got a PSP 2000 (slim) or you've had one for awhile but could never hack it or play games, then you should first check to see what type of motherboard you have.

The safest route is to not install custom firmware first. If you do, you could brick your psp (or in other words, turn your psp into a paperweight; ergo Brick).

First you must download a few things:
1.) OFFICIAL Firmware 5.03
2.) ChickHEN R2 to explore the tiff exploit
3.) PspIdent 0.4 (to find what motherboard your psp holds)
4.) Custom Firmware Enabler 1.0 (it's a one time use for safety)
5.) Custom Firmware Enabler 3.5

At the time this was all written all this info was brand new and hacking the PSP 3000 or the PSP 2000 with the TA-088v3 MotherBoard had just become available.

1: Now first update the firmware to 5.03 (if yours is above this already then I can't help you. Go google to find a way to downgrade).

2: Next Run the ChickHen R2 tiff exploit to let the PSP run unofficial software. What this exploit does is stay in the RAM so as long as you don't Hard Shutdown your PSP and just put it to sleep every time, then you won't have to re-do this. This may/will take a few tries. What helps is to quickly scroll down to the tiff image right when you enter the camera, but don't click the tiff image. It will glitch the screen and then restart automatically. If it just turns off then you have to try to do it again.

3: Next run the PSPIdent 0.4 program. This will tell you what form of motherboard your PSP carries. (if it's anything before TA-088v3 then you can just hack it with a Pandora Battery and have custom firmware permanently on your psp).

If yours says what my image says, then you have a previously unhackable PSP. It is time to continue.

4: Run the Custom Firmware Enabler 1.0 then the 3.5 and you should now be able to run your ISOs.

*Disclaimer: This Tutorial is unfinished. If you do your own research for the programs listed you will find guides all over the net.
